The best places to travel in May are Rome, Barcelona, and the Croatian coast in pre-crowd early summer, Paris in full spring, and Peru as the Andean dry season opens.
If you can travel in May, travel in May. Europe is the headline: Rome, Barcelona, Paris, Prague, and the Croatian coast all hit summer-quality weather with a fraction of July's crowds and prices.
