Book May, September, or October: identical dry-season weather to July at a clear discount, with kids' clubs and dive boats running below capacity.

Split your stay: a few nights on Viti Levu for ease, then an outer island (Yasawas, Taveuni, Kadavu) where the crowds thin to whoever shares your boat.
Choose adults-only or dive-focused properties in the holiday windows if you are traveling without kids; the family resorts are joyfully loud in June and July.
