Beat the crowds

- →Walk the Gothic Quarter and the Boqueria before 10am, then give the midday hours to booked interiors, Montjuic, or the beach, where crowds spread instead of funneling.
- →The Ramblas is a one-time walk-through, not a base: eat and stay a street or two off it, in El Born, Gracia, or the Eixample, and the whole trip improves.
